Introduction and Purpose of This Blog
Hello, greetings, and salutations! As I've been setting up this website over the past several days, I've been thinking a lot about how to represent myself and my different interests in a digital format. I am a very passionate person when I talk to people face-to-face (shocking, I know) and am frequently talking about movies, games, news, and the like that catches my fancy at any given time. It has recently come to my attention just how different my perspective is compared to those I closely associate with, and this is largely due to my living and breathing in the industry I work in and dedicate much of my time to. I know many people in my life would like to hear about my perspectives in a bit more detail, so I figured a blog would be a good place to start. With all that said, welcome to my first blog post!
This initial post is just meant to introduce myself and to explain the raison d'etre for this blog's very existence. As some of you may know, I have been running a YouTube channel for the past decade designed around gaming and comedy. As I've transitioned a bit more into creating serious content and expressing my own opinions to add to the collective chorus of critical voices in the world, I've explored a few different media for publishing my thoughts. I wrote a few articles through a Medium account and have written several short stories - some published, some not. But a blog format in this fashion is very appealing to me because I truly get to champion my own thoughts and compile them through a singular source.
So what will I be writing about here? I will write about movies I really love and games I really love. I will explore different ideas for storytelling that are interesting to me. I will share updates on personal projects of mine and how they are coming along. I will share my thoughts on criticism and share resources I create and use to that end. In short, I will write about my opinions regarding the general sphere of storytelling on a regular basis, sharing what someone with my background and interests thinks about different events and acts. Are you curious about the thoughts of this game designer and developer about that game you played recently, or about how that one movie influenced that one game all those years ago?
